It Starts!
We are really excited to present our scarecrows for 2016. Congratulations to all of the teams who took part, and thank you for your hard work!!
Trim the Milkman, by the Milkmen (Mt Eden Rd)
The boys decided to make a scarecrow by reusing and recycling plastic milk bottles collected over the last 6 months. The boys met a number of times over 4 weeks to look at ways of constructing a milk man character that stood up and held together. Two pieces of bamboo and a bit of wire helped. By interlinking the bottles and parts together, the character emerged!
"Trim" the Milkman was named because the scarecrow was made with 31 Trim milk bottles! Trim will appear at 826 Mt Eden Rd before going to this years Scarecrow Festival. Used: 31 x Trim milk bottles, 2 x bamboo sticks, 2m x reused wire, hot glue.

Casey the Caterpillar, by Team Stuart (Hillsborough Rd)
We have used mainly recycled things to make a caterpillar!
RecycloMax, by Team RecycloMax (Cnr Mt Eden / Rewa Rds)
Design inspired by Lego Mixels and made from whatever items we could find lying around.
BB8, by The BB8ers (St Andrews Rd)
Just like the team who made me, I'm fast, cheeky and small!
Willy Whomper, by the Fabulous Fox Family (Rewa Rd)
Our scarecrow is a take on the Whomping Willow from the Harry Potter series except ours is more friendly. A bit fragile but hopefully he'll survive the weather!
