Buckrow, by Elite Strikers (Mt Albert Rd)
Our scarecrow is a favourite ninjago of team members Liam and Lewis. The boys had lots of fun using power tools - under supervision of course! Poor Buckrow was fatally damaged on his first weekend out on the street but salvaged before the rubbish truck came. So though he's a bit sad looking.... Buckrow lives to fight another day!
Chloe the Super cat, by Supergirls (Heywood Cres)
Chloe has been inspired by the character from the movie 'Secret Life of Pets' and is made from yoghurt containers. A big thank you to all our yoghurt eating friends!
Pixie Dust Jake, by Sammy & Zoe Egg (Queensway)
Meet Jake! He is watching all the children walk to school down Queensway every morning and afternoon, dusting you with pixie dust to wish you a lovely day. He is made of old clothes, some cloth and ribbon, a bucket for his head and sponge pads for his nose and ears! We even painted some old gum boots!
Steve from Minecraft, by Recycle Guru's
We got out all our inorganic rubbish, old clothes and recycling and had a play around with how we could make it into a scarecrow. An old cot mattress was cut up into strips to hit each other with...then we realized they could be arms and legs....so Steve was choosen from Minecraft (one of the the Walters kids favourite games)...and here he is!
C-3POlympic, by The Thomson Tigers (Landscape Rd)
C-3POlympic was inspired by the golden robot from StarWars, C-3PO, after the Star Wars card collecting craze this year, mixed with the 2016 Rio Olympics and the great triple triple golden boy - Usain Bolt (can you see Usain's famous pose?). Our scarecrow is made from shower curtain material, recycled Mammoth insulation, pool noodles, hula hoops, wire & electrical tape.
